3.01 The purpose of this Chapter

The aim of this chapter is to explain the function of choice of court agreements within the framework of English jurisdiction law. It will not focus on exclusive choice of court agreements which are covered by the 2005 Hague Convention, for these are the subject of the following chapter. However, some at least of the material discussed in this chapter will apply to the issues peripheral to such clauses.
