Jefferies banker makes no plea on FCA insider dealing charges

A former banker at New York-based Jefferies International has been charged with insider dealing by the FCA, which alleges he leaked inside information to a friend - resulting in a profit of £70,000 from share transactions and spread bets in GCP Student Living plc.

As with other insider dealing prosecutions, the regulator based its case on the results of its specialist market monitoring systems and analysis of public records.
