LA Dodgers sue Hartford Life

The Los Angeles Dodgers have filed a suit against Hartford Life Insurance. The case involves a disability policy on the team’s pitcher, who has suffered elbow and back injuries. Hartford has paid a claim for the elbow injury, but says that the back injury was not covered by the policy. The baseball team is suing the insurer for breach of contract, and says it is owed more than US$4mn. The policy covered the pitcher’s salary in the event of injury.
