11 September fund unfair and arbitrary

The families of victims of the 11 September terrorist attack on the World Trade Center are asking for a ruling that the special federal compensation fund was unfair and arbitrary. The families’ lawyers are claiming that the method used by the fund to compensate the families of victims does not provide adequate compensation for those with high incomes. A judge hearing the claim said that a ruling could be expected in a the next few weeks.
