Day traders sentenced for insider dealing on broker disclosures

Two brothers have been given suspended prison sentences after pleading guilty at Southwark Crown Court to insider trading in a prosecution brought by the FCA. The younger of the two, 44-year-old Matthew West, was sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment, suspended for two years, and an unpaid work requirement of 200 hours in relation to five charges. Nikolas West, aged 46, was sentenced to six months, which was suspended for a year relating to one charge.
