Heart disease risk for steroid drugs
Scientists have warned that people using anti-inflammatory steroid drugs, for example for asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and
inflammatory bowel disease, are at a greater risk of heart disease. New research by the University of Dundee has found that
the drugs may increase the risk of developing cardiovascular disease by up to 70%, with the higher the dose of the drug taken,
the higher the risk of heart disease.
