Critical premature baby report

A panel of paediatric experts has reported that inadequate hospital care may be resulting in the needless death of some babies. The report, ‘Confidential Enquiry into Stillbirths and Deaths in Infancy,’ pointed to a lack of expertise in resuscitation and support for premature babies, delays in the provision of life-saving lung treatments, and poor record-keeping.
