Pregnant lawyer unfairly dismissed

A personal injury solicitor has won a claim for sex discrimination, unfair dismissal and wrongful dismissal, against her law firm. The solicitor became pregnant just one month after gaining promotion. One month after telling her firm about the pregnancy she was suspended on allegations of gross misconduct after making errors in her work. She developed pre-eclampsia and was dismissed by letter one week before being admitted to hospital, where she lost the baby.
