Whistleblowing in financial services - are the protections adequate?
by Justin Murray
In theory, in the UK, an employee or worker who is treated to their detriment and/or dismissed because of making a protected
disclosure (blowing the whistle) may bring a claim in the Employment Tribunal under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998
(PIDA) to seek an uncapped award for losses flowing from the detriment or dismissal.
