Carriage of LNG

A Introduction

2.1 In this chapter we consider what is different about the carriage of LNG, as distinct from other products and liquefied gases; and how these differences affect the legal issues relevant to the allocation of risk and liabilities between the relevant parties. We consider briefly the performance of a typical LNG voyage and related performance targets. We conclude with an illustration as to how these legal issues may cause difficulties in achieving those performance targets in LNG projects.
