Ukraine promises compensation
Accepting that a TU-154 Russian jet, downed in the Black Sea with the deaths of all 78 on board, was accidentally shot down
by a missile, the Ukrainian president has promised compensation to the families of Israelis, many of whom were recent immigrants
to Israel. There is no detail yet of the amount on offer, or for other passengers.
