IOSCO has published a report on retail investor education in the context of sustainable finance, making a series of recommendations to regulators as to how to improve retail investors' engagement with sustainable finance and related investment products. Charlotte Hill and Daniel Hirschfield review its findings.

Introduction and background

On 31 August 2002, the board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) published a report entitled 'Retail Investor Education in the Context of Sustainable Finance Markets and Products' (Report), which was prepared by members of the Committee on Retail Investors (one of IOSCO's eight committees) (Committee 8).
