£7 million damages settlement for medical negligence

A man who suffered significant injuries after negligence during surgery has received a £7 million damages settlement. The man suffered a significant stroke after having elective surgery to remove a non-cancerous tumour. The hospital trust admitted liability for the surgeon performing surgery below the appropriate standard of care that was to be expected.
