Hong Kong Securities & Futures Commission CEO to become next FCA chair

The Treasury has chosen another corporate finance lawyer to chair the FCA — Ashley Alder, now in his 12th year as chief executive officer of the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong. Like Charles Randell, who stepped down as chair in February, Alder was a partner in one of the leading global law firms. Alder eventually became head of Asia for Herbert Smith LLP.
