Nearly 90 per cent of funeral plan sector ready for FCA authorisation

At least 24 funeral plan firms - equal to 87 per cent of the existing market - are set to be authorised by the FCA when the sector comes under its regulation on 29 July. The firms, which include the largest operators, will then be barred by FCA rules from cold calling and paying commission to intermediaries.
