32.1 Introduction

As discussed in the previous chapter, lawyers frequently engage forensic engineers to provide expert evidence in connection with actual or contemplated litigation or arbitration. This chapter is confined to guidance for a “clean expert” in preparing expert reports and giving evidence in arbitration or litigation.
