New Scottish law protects shopworkers from violence and abuse

A new law to protect Scottish shopworkers from violence, threats and abuse has come into force. The ground-breaking legislation was supported by MSPs after a long-running campaign by retail trade union Usdaw led to the Protection of Workers (Retail and Age-restricted Goods and Services) (Scotland) Bill. The union is urging shopworkers to report incidents to ensure the legislation is able to have an effect on ever increasing incidents.
