Microbiological instability in soya beans: what can be done?

Dr Tim Moss, at Brookes Bell, reports on an increasing number of disputes around soya bean cargoes

Soya beans are susceptible to mould growth resulting in self-heating, leading to cargo damage. Most of the problems encountered with this cargo are usually the result of microbiological instability in the beans prior to loading.
