CMCs to be stopped from making ‘phoenix’ claims when connected firms fail

The FCA is moving to prevent claims management phoenixing (CMP) — a practice in which over 220 claims are made on the Financial Services Compensation Scheme annually by people connected to the firm whose failure led to the claims.
