‘Don’t care was made to care, Don’t care was hung: Don’t care was put in a pot, And boiled till he was done.’ Compliance officers might find it, well, career-limiting to wag their finger at the Board, and anyway, how many executives have been hung… out to dry (let alone boiled)? Time and again enforcement actions make reference to senior management failings without any individual being held to account. Why is that?
