Barton and Another v R

Dishonesty - Stare decisis - Obiter dicta - Instruction of the Supreme Court in conflict with decision of the Court of Appeal.

David Barton ran a luxury nursing home in Birkdale, Southport. He employed Rosemary Booth as his general manager. The prosecution alleged that Barton and Booth, together with others, had groomed wealthy residents, taken control of their finances and thereby dishonestly enriched themselves.
