Catholic doctor wins £20,000 in settlement

A Catholic doctor who failed to be appointed to the post of consultant physician at Ulster Hospital has won £20,000. He had lodged a complaint in the Fair Employment Tribunal alleging unlawful religious and political discrimination. The case, which was assisted by the Equality Commission, was settled without admission of liability by the Trust.
