Nazery Khalid assesses the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on global shipping
The Covid-19 pandemic has thrown the global economy into turmoil as a result of lockdown and movement restrictions of people,
transportation and goods across supply chains imposed by governments to curb its spread. As at the end of June 2020, the virus
had infected close to 10 million people and claimed nearly half a million lives globally. It had not shown any signs of abating
and was still spreading around the world.
