As a nation, we’re seriously overweight, says the Prime Minister, who, having survived COVID-19, and shed a few pounds, claims he’s “as fit as a butcher’s dog”. Obesity puts significant strain on both the National Health Service (NHS) and the wider economy; there’s no doubt but that it’s contributed to COVID-19 hospitalisation and mortality rates.
