New guidance on equal pay law from Acas
Workplace expert Acas has published new guidance to help employers and their staff understand the law around equal pay. The
Equal Pay Act came into force on 29 May 1970 and aimed to prevent discrimination between men and women’s pay and other terms
and conditions of employment. The equal pay rules have since been updated in the Equality Act 2010 and a statutory code of
practice from the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
