Charterparty – Hire – Non-payment – Whether charterers could set off certain claims against hire

Followingthe declaratory award made in London Arbitration 4/19 the owners applied for a partial final award of hire pursuant to principles in The Kostas Melas [1981] 1 Lloyd’s Rep 18. The owners said that the charterers could not show reasonable grounds for the deduction they had made.
