Jurisdiction: liability insurance claims in the EU

Two recent decisions of the CJEU, Landeskrankenanstalten-Betriebsgesellschaft–KABEG v Mutuelles du Mans Assurances–MMA IARD SA Case C-340/16, and Hofsoe v LVM Landwirtschaftlicher Versicherungsverein Münster AG Case C-106/17, have clarified the operation of the Brussels Regulation Recast, Regulation 1215/2012, as regards direct actions against liability insurers by victims of negligence.
