4.1 The expansion of general ODR systems

Since the advent of the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) system in late 1990s and early 2000s, it has been commonly known that there are two additional elements involved in the process compared with traditional ADR (i.e. two disputing parties and third parties such as mediators or arbitrators): technology and providers of technology.
