Into trilogue: European Parliament agrees stance on Fourth EU ML Directive

The European Parliament finalised its negotiating position on the Fourth EU Money Laundering Directive ((EU) 2015/849) [1] with a vote on 28 February, which endorsed major advances on the original draft text; some may prove hard for the Council of Ministers to accept. Trilogue discussions, also with the European Commission, are set to open on 21 March. MEP Sven Giegold, financial and economic policy spokesperson of the Greens/EFA group in the parliament summarises the many amendments.
