De-risking your cake while financially including it

The logical impossibility of having one’s cake and eating it is very much on the UK mind at the moment, writes Sue Grossey, as we wrestle with the implications of our decision to leave the EU. It’s something most of us learn in the playground, that if there are two things you want that clash, you generally can’t have them both – regardless of how good they both are. And this realisation is coming late to the financial system and its overseers, it seems, when dealing with the twin aims of de-risking and financial inclusion.
