BOOK REVIEW - “DOCUMENTS ON THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE”

Edited by Shabtai Rosenne

(Second Edition, 1979, xii and 497 pp.) Dfl. 95, $47.50
The Second Revised Edition of Professor Rosenne’s “Documents on the International Court of Justice” will be warmly welcomed by international lawyers. Like the first edition, it succeeds in providing practitioner and student with a complete collection in one volume of the documents relating to the operation of the court. The principal constitutional documents—the U.N. Charter, the Statute of the Court and the Rules of Court—are provided in their French and English editions. It is useful to have the 1946 and 1972 versions of the Rules in addition to the new 1978 Rules and the revised Table of Concordance facilitates cross-reference between the various editions. As in the first edition, Professor Rosenne provides bibliographical references to facilitate study of the legislative history of the court’s documents, as well as indications wherever a document has been invoked in the court.
