Thus writes Anon (possibly Maurice Kay, the General Editor?) as introduction to this series. One wonders idly how considered was the choice of 1964 as the base year for this spurt of activity in Parliament designed to plague the businessman and manager.
Adds Anon:
“As a response to this there is a growing demand for courses, conferences and other literature which explains these laws”.
The more cynical of us may have thought that the growth in the conference industry was stimulated by businessmen and managers realising that conferences could show a large profit and that such of the businessmen who attend do so either for a day out of the office or to be seen or to meet fellow businessmen and then to bring back a wallet of papers that remain permanently unread as proof of a day profitably spent.
