The penny has dropped

Drawing on years of research and evidence the Home Affairs Select Committee alleges that “London is a centre for money laundering”, concluding that “Proceeds of Crime legislation [enabled in 2003] has failed to achieve its purpose.” In a landmark report [1], the Committee makes substantive and far-reaching recommendations, which if implemented, says Tristram Hicks, would promise a dramatic increase in enforcement against money laundering and the financial crime that initiates it.
