Is it time to reform the international salvage regime?

Tim Fuller, of the Salvage Sub-Committee of the International Group of P&I Clubs, responds to a recent article in Maritime Risk International

I refer to the article headed “Is it time to reform the international salvage regime?” published in your April 2015 edition. The article was written by George Pachatouridis, of The Standard Club, and so may give your readers the impression Pachatouridis was expressing a view of an International Group member club consistent with the views of the International Group. This is not the case, but in any event it would perhaps help if I were to set out the position of the International Group of P&I Clubs on the issue of environmental salvage awards.
