Parent guarantees and letters of comfort

Parent guarantees and letters of comfort

12.1 Where a party is unable or unwilling to provide a bank guarantee to secure its obligations under the shipbuilding contract, the parties may agree that security is provided in the form of a parent guarantee, and less commonly, in the form of a letter of comfort.
