5.1 THE CURRENT REGIME: REGULATION 267/2010

The introduction of the current Block Exemption Regulation1 was, yet again, to be preceded by a Commission report, the Report on the Insurance Block Exemption.2 In the report, the Commission came to the preliminary conclusion that agreements on cooperation in the area of joint calculations, tables, and studies should be facilitated and that the block exemption in this area deserved continuity of application. The same considerations arose in relation to insurance pools.
