When severe weather meets aging infrastructure

In announcing the nomination of Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx as his new transportation secretary on April 29, President Obama pushed for spending on infrastructure, saying that employing Americans to repair and expand the nation’s roads, bridges, ports, power grids and other infrastructure assets was one of the best ways to improve the economy and rebuild opportunity for the middle class.
