Hurricane provides reminder of the value of insurance, PCI’s Sampson claims

The arrival of hurricane Sandy on the US mainland will provide policyholders with a timely remainder of the vital role the private insurance market has to play in responding to natural catastrophe activity, amid rising concern about increasing regulatory and government intervention in the sector, David Sampson, president and chief executive of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI), said, writes Greg Dobie, Dana Point.
