Deepwater Horizon forces rates for oil rigs to rocket

THE IMPACT of the explosion and subsequent sinking of semi-submersible drilling rig Deepwater Horizon is already driving increased rates for deep-water oil rigs, with a leading insurer saying it has increased its cost of cover 40% since the disaster.
