XL adds two to professional lines

XL INSURANCE (pictured) has expanded its London-based professional lines team to seven. Emma Knowles has joined from Liberty International, where she held the position of senior underwriter for financial institutions, while Eve Coen has decided to leave Munich Re to take up her new position at XL. Coen has previous experience as a professional lines underwriter for AIG, based in London and Dublin. XL’s financial institutions team was set up at the beginning of this year, with the team’s chief underwriting officer, Gerard Bloom, joining in January. Bloom said: “Since our launch in January, we have had tremendous interest from brokers and clients throughout Europe. We continue to see growing demand by financial institutions for this specialist cover, especially in this changing economic climate.”
