AON CRISIS MANAGEMENT has promoted Christof Bentele to the role of global managing director. Bentele has been with the company for a decade and has spent more than 20 years in crisis management and the food and beverage industry. Bentele will have responsibility for managing the broker’s global recall and contamination team. In addition, Bernhard Steves has been appointed regional director for the Americas for Aon’s product recall and contamination team. Steves has more than 20 years of experience in both broking and product development, and is regarded as one of the US’s leading recall, contamination and food-borne illness experts. Paul Bassett, global chief executive of Aon Crisis Management, said: “Around the world we have seen a wave of product recall issues, demonstrating the detrimental effect on brands and companies when trust and confidence breaks down. How a company responds to and manages these issues is critical in determining in what shape it will come through a crisis like that.”
