Industry reports first half premium growth

But foreign insurers are not keeping up with the levels of market share set by domestic firms

China’s insurers recorded a 6.6% rise to Yuan598bn in combined life and non-life premium income in the first half of 2009, according to new figures released by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC). Insurance assets rose by 10.9% to Yuan3.7trn.
