Insurers record slowdown in premium growth

While direct premiums experienced some slowdown, reinsurance increased by 17.3% to €241.7mn

Slovenia’s insurance market recorded a slight decline in the rate of growth during 2008, although the setback was more moderate than in neighbouring markets. The combined premium income passed the €2bn mark, a rise of 6.6%, slightly ahead of the 5.7% inflation rate, against the previous year’s premium growth of 9.8%.
