Generali opens office in Vietnam

The Generali Group has been allowed to open a representative office in Hanoi, in Vietnam, and the company is hoping to obtain an operating licence in the course of next year. The Vietnamese insurance market, which has a population of 85 million, has been growing at an annual rate of more than 8% over the last five years, and was expected to continue growing at an average of 6% a year for the next decade. It has been the fastest growing economy in Asia after China. Generali is already present in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, and Thailand.
