Surge in whistleblowing

Companies advised to develop a more open style of corporate management to enable employees to voice concerns

European risk consultancy, Protiviti, has warned organisations to be prepared for an increase in ‘whistleblowing’ from former employees as the number of redundancies continues to rise. John Cassey, Head of Fraud & Litigation, Protiviti, London said that as the credit crisis deepened and redundancies became more prolific, there was an alarmingly high number of allegations being made against staff and the senior management of all types of companies by ex-employees.
