Zurich North America opens energy office in Cleveland

The Commercial’s Energy Casualty division of Zurich North America has opened up offices in Cleveland, Ohio and Atlanta in order to enhance its access to the energy casualty markets in the US’s Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The Cleveland office will be the base of operations for an expanded mining practice, while the Atlanta office will serve accounts in the southeastern U.S. The mining insurance market has hardened significantly after suffering considerable losses in 2008. A number of insurance firms have exited the market and it is not easy for both brokers, cedants and clients to access insurance or reinsurance cover.
