Local authority funding of care

A woman, who is a patient of the Court of Protection, was born with congenital rubella syndrome. She has a severe learning autistic spectrum disorder with visual impairment, severe learning difficulties and behavioural problems. Liability had previously been admitted and the key issue to be determined was who should bear the future costs of caring for her.
