Noise induced hearing loss damages
A man who worked as an engineer in the Merchant Navy was exposed to excessive noise at work without ear protection between
1972 and 1977. Ear protection was supplied in 1977, but by that time the noise induced hearing loss damage had already been
done. The client was exposed to noise from ships engines, pumps and compressors. The claim settled without admission of liability
before issue of court proceedings and he received £6000 in compensation.
