The family of a man who died from mesothelioma has received a six figure sum in compensation. The man was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2006, and died in 2007. He had worked a car manufacturer for the majority of his working life assisting fitters and millwrights on repair and maintenance jobs throughout the factory premises. An early interim payment of £47,000 was made and the claim was settled out of court for a six-figure sum.
