International Paint Ltd. v. The owners of the vessel Damavand - Singapore High Court (Karthigesu J.) - 5 August 1992

Writ in rem issued against ship in respect of necessaries supplied to several sister ships - Writ served and vessel arrested - Plaintiffs subsequently amended writ by striking out reference to one of the ships to which necessaries had been supplied and then commenced second action in rem against yet another sister ship in respect of the necessaries supplied to the vessel deleted from the first writ - Whether arrest of second vessel abuse of process

On 24 October 1989 the plaintiffs commenced an Admiralty action in rem against the owners of the vessel Minab 4 . The claim was for goods and materials supplied to the ships or vessels Alamoot , Bisoton , Khark 2 , Shir Kooh and Taftan .
